Our faith

In the United States, we have a political system in which the political decisions are made by "officials elected by the people, to serve the people and accountable to the people" they represent. This system is known as a "Democracy." But after some time in office, many elected public officials forget who elected them and the purpose for being elected to office. They become owners of their position and begin to adopt new positions without seeking the will of the people that elected them to office. This is a great disconnect between them and their constituents. This is more noticeable among the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senators, and also at State levels.

In some cases, these elected public officials become servant to lobbyist and special interest groups and make deals in closed door meetings. They become corrupted and betray the basic principles of honest representation under the constitution. They swear an oath with their hand on the Bible, and then they go on losing the trust of the people.

We, Americans of Faith and American voters in general, have the responsibilities to hold these elected public officials accountable for their conduct. When they step out of line, we must let them know that they represent us and when they do not listen, it is time to vote them out of office. Most voters expect honesty and transparency from those elected to public office. When they fail to do so; they betray their constituents and it is time for a change.

Americans of Christian Faith - Catholics, Evangelicals, Baptists, Episcopalians, Methodist, other Christian denominations and other non-denominations and their leaders - can play an important role in the direction in which our country is going. Yet, many Americans of Faith take an attitude of indifference and show no connection between our faith and our relationship with politics. There is a danger taking this approach and allowing the political system to collapse in front of our own eyes. Then, we cry and lament that things are going the wrong way, when we had the opportunity to change the course of history. In this case, we allowed the opportunity for change to escape from our own hands as a result of our indifference and lack of vision. Then, if we lose our freedom to practice our faith, it is too late to act.

Some think that it is irrelevant to connect Faith and politics. Brothers and Sisters, it is very relevant when we are witnessing public officials with liberal ideas, Federal and Supreme Court judges and special interest groups slowly undermining the basic Christian foundation creating this nation. We have already seen how they are trying to remove the name of God from our constitution, public buildings and the Allegiance to the Flag, when our school children are prohibited to pray in our schools, when school books are removing the name of God to be politically correct in order to please small minority groups supporting Anti Christian doctrines, when school systems are adopting books supporting the teaching of the Evolution Theory for the sake of balance in education, when the Supreme Courts in many states rule in favor of Pro-Abortion and in favor of the same Sex Marriage. We need to stand and be heard now!

Americans of Faith, we need to act now and take an active role in building the future of our faith in this nation. We need to be educated and be concerned about the political environment in which we live and anticipate the consequences for not participating. We need to be proactive and not inactive!.

That brings me to our U.S. House of Representative and the U. S. Senate which are taking the wrong direction pushing and passing legislation opposed by the majority of the voters, doing very little to create jobs, bailing-out companies, creating unsustainable deficits, destroying the future of our children and grandchildren, supporting legislation approving funds for abortions, and the list goes on. For us, Americans of Faith, these issues cannot be ignored. It is time for Americans of Faith to take a stand to protect our freedom to practice our faith in a free society and preserve the basic Christian principles that our founding fathers placed in our constitution. We are soldiers of God and we must stand together. We need to identify the U.S. House of Representatives and the U. S. Senators ignoring these basic principles and remove them from office with our votes. NAFAPAC will not rest until we achieve this goal and we establish real honesty and transparency in our government.

It is time for all Americans of Faith to unite and elect our U.S. House of Representatives and U. S. Senators identified with our Christian values. That is the only way to secure our future and the future of our Faith in a free United States of America. Our U.S. House of Representatives and U. S. Senators are elected by us, the people; to serve us, the people; and to be accountable to us, the people.

In the book of Proverbs 3:27 - 28, we read a great message for all Americans, Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I will give it tomorrow "– when you have it with you.

God has given us wisdom to discern and our constitution has given us the right to choose the future of this nation with our votes. Then, let's use both and unite on a common cause!
